1. Please tell us a little bit about your business/site?
Our business is 7 months old and like all really good ideas it came from the interaction of myself and my niece buckling and unbuckling her high chair from underneath the dining room table. With the help of my mom, and now business partner, we created BuckleyBoo – my Mom’s a child psychologist so beyond being an adorable toy, many factors went into the developmental concepts incorporated into our product.
2. How long have you been in business? How did you get your business started?
We have been thinking, designing, creating and tweaking ( the tweaking never ends) for 2 years and we have been open for business since 9/08.
3. Is your business online, or a physical location or both?
We have a website, we are in independent toy stores and some online companies are selling our product.
4. What do you enjoy most about running your business/site?
The learning curve has been amazing and the people who work in the creative and production end of the toy industry have been so helpful in contributing ideas and educating us that it has been great. The best part is when we hear that another toddler is in love with their BuckleyBoo and we again confirm that this was not just a good product but a smart one.
5. Is there a favorite product or service that you offer?
All the products are our favorites – we seem to rotate regarding which one is the cutest. I think our infant products coming in June are especially clever in that they transition from infancy onward and allow for really fun caretaker/ child interaction. We have written a children’s book about the BuckleyBoo that will give context to the toys and toddlers will love the delightful drawings by our illustrator, Sean Kernick.
6. Anything else you would like to share about your business? Being a working parent? Etc…
Right now both my mom and I have “day jobs” I am a marketing executive and my mom is a child psychologist. BuckleyBoo has taken a huge amount of time and caring but as we realize the results of a timeless product entering the category of ‘classic’ (for now and forever) toys, the time and work has been worth it.

Wow! What kid doesn’t love to play with the buckles on a high chair? I wish I had thought of it!

My kids love her buckleydog and takes it everywhere with her. She also will sit with it for almost 30mins straight and she’s only 3.
