1. Can you tell me a little bit about your blog?

BargainBabe.com is a personal finance blog that focuses on saving money in everyday life. I share daily tips for reducing your bills for groceries, entertainment, dining out, and more.

2. How long have you been blogging?

About a year and a half. I used to be a newspaper reporter but once I tried blogging I fell in love with it, errr, got addicted right away. You may know me from when I wrote the Bargain Hunter blog and column for the LA Daily News. BargainBabe.com is my own blog so now I’m an entrepreneurial journalist.

3. What are the main topics that you focus on?

I focus on practical ways to save money on items that you are already
buying. Recent tips include discounts for Disneyland, resources for
do-it-yourself repairs, and a cheaper alternative to sponges. Once a
week I help a reader solve a financial dilemma that they have written

4. What have been some of your most popular posts?

A dream I had about getting new bras hit a nerve. So did a post about
seeing how many days I could eat out of my freezer and pantry. One
woman wrote in that she had 44 days worth of meat in her freezer!5. Have you met any friends through blogging?

Soooooo many. Cheapskates stick together and really enjoy sharing
tips. It’s great because my philosophy is that I can teach my readers
a few things about saving money, but together we can do a lot better!

6. Do you make any money from blogging, or is it strictly a labor of love?

I do make money from blogging through ads. I also freelance and give
talks to community groups about saving money. Hire me, I’m cheap!

7. What are your favorite things to do when you’re not blogging?

Swimming, running, playing Ultimate Frisbee, eating, and hanging with friends.
