Mamatini is the first-ever, doctor-designed, ready-to-drink, organic herbal infusion created to help women breastfeed better, easier, and for longer.

Do you know that the American Medical Association recommends mothers breastfeed exclusively for the first 6 months and continue breastfeeding for the first year, but only 11% of women do?

Do you know that breastfeeding can help mom get her pre-baby body back even faster?

So why do so many women who want to breastfeed get discouraged with the process and give up? They are often challenged by low milk supply, low energy, and the additional stress on their bodies.

That’s why we created Mamatini. Mamatini contains herbs used for centuries (fenugreek, fennel, chamomile and ginger) to address the challenges that can accompany breastfeeding. Mamatini was designed by a pediatrician to help increase milk supply, increase energy and increase overall good health for mom and baby.

Mamatini also helps reduce colic symptoms in baby, provides the vitamins mom needs for healthy milk production, and helps her body absorb and retain the minerals that are depleted during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Mamatini is also especially useful for women who plan to return to the workforce and do a lot of pumping, when low milk supply and a slow let-down reflex can frustrate the process and mom’s career.

Mamatini was created by Erica Duignan Minnihan, a former venture capitalist, MBA and mother of 3 who was frustrated by her inability to find a delicious and convenient beverage to support her body’s needs while she was breastfeeding. Tired of brewing fenugreek tea at all hours of the day and night, she decided to collaborate with her pediatrician on a formula that would support a woman’s milk supply and take a holistic approach to her needs as a new mom, helping her body absorb more vitamins and minerals and increasing her energy. The result is Mamatini.

4. What do you enjoy most about running your business/site?

The thing I love most about running Mamatini is that I am helping other moms. One of the World Health Organizations top goals is to get more women to breastfeed for at least one year. Mamatini can help women meet this goal. It’s also very important from a social entrepreneurship standpoint because if 90% of women breastfed for one year it would save the lives of 900 babies and reduce health care costs in this country by $13 billion. That’s a meaningful change for the state of health in our country.

Yes, the Mamatini – our first and only product!

6. Anything else you would like to share about your business? Being a working Mom? Etc…

Being a working mom has been a joy because my kids are able to see what I do a really understand it. I don’t think they have a clue what their father’s job entails – he’s an investment banker. But they are great, in fact my 4 year-old points out pregnant women all the time and tells me “you should sell her some Mamatini!” Maybe she can be the Chief Marketing Officer when she grows up!
