1. Please tell us a little bit about your business/site?

Smart Start Sitters was created out of my own need for a fully engaged sitter for my son. I found all sitters who I interviewed pleasant although when I observed them interacting with my child I found a wide range of abilities. In an effort to guarantee as close as possible that a sitter would actually be engaged with my child, I created a formula to recruit and interview sitters. Once I solidified this process it became the basis for Smart Start Sitters. I found my clients are very satisfied with the consistent quality we offer, which are educated sitters who understand child development.

2. How long have you been in business?

A year and a half.

3. Is your business online, or a physical location or both?

Smart Start Sitters has both a physical location for our office space and a website.

4. What do you enjoy most about running your business/site?

My continued thrill in discovering great talent in my sitters and being able to specifically match them with families who value what they offer as well as what we offer.

5. Is there a favorite product or service that you offer?

The “Try Me” package which allows our client to try us out and experience that Smart Start Sitters is really the next best thing to mom and dad. This package is a special one time per customer offer including a discounted booking fee for three sittings within a month.

6. Anything else you would like to share about your business? Being a working Mom? Etc…

Before I started my business most of my days were free to enjoy my son. Now that I have Smart Start Sitters, it’s much more challenging. I struggle with making set times when I must not work on the business. I was told by a very successful Mompreneur to make a clear delineation between business hours and family hours. It’s a continual challenge.
