She usually gets a few things she needs as gifts, like a new backpack for school last Christmas -- which she was thrilled with. The rest of her holiday/birthday gifts from us tend to be tickets to a show, or horseback riding lessons, or something else she would enjoy. Her room is cluttered enough already with toys from relatives and friends -- none of which she has time to play with anyway because she is so busy enjoying sports, music classes or having fun with friends. Enough with rampant consumerism already! From a former (now reformed) Disney kids' marketer! :) We don’t get toys for our daughter either.
